Valestra 2mg Tablet contains a precursor of ovarian hormones responsible for menstruation and reproduction in women. It replaces the natural Estradiol hormone in the body, helping maintain adequate hormone levels. This provides relief from vasomotor symptoms, such as hot flashes, in post-menopausal women.
Valestra 2mg Tablet is indicated for the short-term treatment of climacteric complaints following the cessation of monthly bleeding. It is also prescribed for deficiency symptoms after oophorectomy or radiological castration for non-carcinomatous diseases. These symptoms include hot flashes, outbreaks of sweat, sleep disturbances, depressive moods, irritability, headaches, and dizziness.
Additionally, Valestra 2mg Tablet exhibits a favorable influence on bladder irritation, which is not uncommon during the climacteric period. It also addresses signs of cutaneous and mucosal involution, particularly in the genital region, which typically occurs with advancing age.
Valestra 2mg Tablet is a naturally occurring estrogen. Estrogens play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of the female reproductive system and secondary sexual characteristics. They modulate the pituitary secretion of gonadotrophins, LH (luteinizing hormone), and FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) through a negative feedback system.

Therapy with Estradiol is not indicated for use during pregnancy. There is a lack of data regarding its use in pregnant women. Epidemiologic studies and meta-analyses have not found an increased risk of genital or nongenital birth defects, including cardiac anomalies and limb-reduction defects, following exposure to combined hormonal contraceptives (estrogen and progestins) before conception or during early pregnancy. However, the use of Estradiolduring pregnancy is not recommended
Estradiol therapy is not indicated for use in females of reproductive potential who are breastfeeding. Estrogens present in human milk can reduce milk production in breastfeeding females. While reduction can occur at any time, it is less likely to occur once breastfeeding is well-established.
